Not Christmas yet, but.......

While firing the kiln I often have small spots that could be filled. Christmas decorations are perfectly suited for this purpose. So throughout the year, while making pottery I often use up off cuts to produce little ornaments to hang in the tree. 

This will be the last blog for a couple of months! Au revoir!

Wenn ich denn Brennofen lade hat es oft kleine Ecken die man besser ausnuetzten koennte. Weihnachts Dekorationen sind ideal fuer diesen Zweck. Durchs Jahr mache ich somit oft ein paar Dingerchen die man in den Baum haengen kann

Some recycling

I had this table cloth sitting around which I used for the outdoor setting at our previous place. I really like the bright colors and apple design. Since I often splatter my tops while cooking, an apron was the perfect solution. I also wanted a shopping bag that fits in my handbag. Et voila, a new lease of life for a neglected table cloth!

Ich hatte eine Tischdecke rum liegen die ich in unserem letzten Haus fuer den Garten Tisch brauchte. Die froehlichen Farben und das Apfel Design mag ich. Da ich ohnehin andauernd meine Tops verspritze beim kochen (trage selten oder nie eine Kuechenschuerze!) kam mir das Stuck wie gewuenscht.  Als weiteres machte ich eine Einkaufstasche die klein zusammen gefaltet gut in die Handtasche passt. Nun ist beides rege im Gebrauch und es hat ein Stueck weniger im Recycle Stapel. 

  

Just on our Doorstep.......

On Saturday we decided on the spur of a moment to go for a hike in the National Park. We parked the car at Wattamola and took the coastal track south towards Eagle Rock. The scenery is breathtaking and now, during the cooler weather a lot of flowers are in bloom. Getting there took us about 1 1/2 hours since we where filming. The way back was about 70 minutes since we had to rush to beat nightfall. The next time we are planning to take the tent and watch the sunrise at this spot. The going is rough and a lot of up and down hills. We where running so late that it was already dark by the time we got back to the car park. Anyway, it is well worth the effort as you can see from the few pics I shot.

 Am Samstag gingen wir kurz entschlossen auf eine Wanderung in den nahe gelegenen National Park. Wir liessen das Auto auf dem Parkplatz im Park und machten uns auf den Weg zum Eagle Rock der suedlich an der Kueste liegt. Die Aussicht ist wunderschoen und jetzt wo es etwas kuehler ist blueht sehr viel im Busch. Der Hinweg war etwa 1 1/2 Stunden da wir filmten und somit mehr Zeit brauchten. Zurueck ging es rassig und wir hatten nur etwa 70 Min. Es war schon dunkel als wir wieder beim Auto ankamen. Wir wollen noch einmal  hin und dort campieren. Der Sonnen Aufgang mit dem Adler Kopf ist atemberaubend !
