Latest Projects

Everybody has to make the best of the present situation, namely being more or less house-bound. I tackled some sewing projects which have been "hanging" around for a while. Unfortunately I have no "before"  pictures, as most of the time to busy getting it all done before thinking to take some photos. Here we go....

Jeder muss momentan das Beste aus der doch ungewoehnlichen Situation machen dass man eher zu Hause fest sitzt. Ich habe ein paar Projekt angepackt die schon eine Weile rum hingen. Wie meistens vergass ich "vorher" Fotos zu machen aber die Erklaerung folgt....

Das pink und turqoise T shirt sind gekauft. Ich habe beide etwas aufgemoebelt mit Stoff den ich am Lager hatte.

Peters most favoured golfing T shirt was getting a bit worn around the color/neckband. A ribbon with native birds now covers the damage. He is very happy!

Peters allerliebstes Golf T shirt war am Kragensteg etwas abgewetzt aber wie immer kann er sich von sowas nicht trennen. Ein Band dekoriert mit einheimischen Voegeln deckt nun den Schaden und er ist gluecklich,

 Last but not least, I had to attach a pocket to this shirt for Peter's glasses.

Letztlich noch etwas einfaches, eine Tasche fuer die Brille wieder auf einem T shirt von Peter.

Weiteres ist noch in Arbeit und wird spaeter folgen.

Since we do not have a cat anymore we get a fair few visitors on our back deck wanting some food.

Seit wir keine Katze mehr haben kommen alle moeglichen Voegel zu Besuch und wollen was zu fressen.

Bushfires

A few weeks ago, we drove through the Snowy Mountains and then up the coast back to home. This is the area worst hit by the bushfires fare and wide. The damage caused is just unbelievable. It is one thing to watch it from the comfort of your home on TV, but very different to be there and see it first hand. Since we had some rain, the bush shows very early signs of recovering. How amazing is it to see some new shoots sprouting!

Vor ein paar Wochen fuhren wir durch die Snowy Mountains, dann an die Kueste und wieder zurueck nach Sydney. Diese Gegend ist am schlimmsten betroffen von den Buschfeuer. Die Verwuestung ist unbeschreiblich. Es ist eins vor dem Fernseher zu sitzen und zu sehen wie es brennt, aber dann persoenlich dort zu sein etwas ganz anderes. Dank des Regens den wir gluecklicherweise seither hatten, faengt es schon wieder etwas an zu "gruenen" 

Christmas sale

I am back from my holidays and into making pots again for various sales events.

The next one is a Twilight Market at Audley Dance Hall in the Royal National Park.

Date: Friday, 22nd of November. 
Opening hours 5-9 pm 

Lots of lovely Christmas presents to be had! Come and visit!

I am still around, just not in "Blogland"!
Had to make quite a lot of pottery, be it for a charity event or just for my stock.

Laut den Bildern koennt ihr sehen dass ich fleissig am toepfern war. Ich hatte einen Auftrag fuer  Toepfli fuer einen wohltaetigen Zweck.dann muss ich auch immer etwas fuer ans Lager machen.
Wie man sieht, es laeuft was......
Jetzt will ich unbeding wieder mal was naehen. Die Stapel Stoff werden einfach nicht weniger........

National Competition and Exhibition 2018

Finally some pictures of our recent Competition and Exhibition. We, the Port Hacking Potters, are holding this event every second year. This time was especially important being our 50th anniversary. Not a mean feat for a group like ours to stage it for such a length of time! We had a record number of nearly 130 entries which caused me some sleepless nights how to best set it up in the limited space we had. 

Endlich kommen ein paar Bilder von unserer Ausstellung und Wettbewerb. Wir, die Port Hacking Potters Group halten dies jedes zweite Jahr ab. Diesmal war es ein ganz besonders wichtiger Anlass da wir unser 50zigstes Jubilaeum feierten. Nicht schlecht fuer eine Gruppe wie unsere sowas fuer so lange Zeit auf die Beine zu stellen! Wir hatten auch eine Rekord Nummer von fast 130 Teilnehmer. Dies verursachte mir ein paar schlaflose Naechte da ich das Ganze ausstellen musste damit es "eine Gattig" macht. Nun ist es vorbei und ich kann mich wieder anderen Sachen wiedmen wie fuer mich "Toepfe" fabrizieren, naehen und vieles andere mehr!
